I find a lot of value in assessment via discussion and group participation, but just having conversations all of the time can get stale. Kahoot is a program that allows students to join quizzes remotely from computers. The gamification of the discussion helps it go down smoother and is a method of engagement contemporary students are more familiar with. The tool is also easy enough to use that students can design their own quizzes.

An enormous part of good teaching is good planning. I'm a particular fan of using to-do lists as both a tool of personal organization and as one of public accountability. I've had a lot of jobs where my work affected others and so I was expected to keep my list of ongoing tasks and projects public to those affected. This is true of my work as a teacher too, so I run a public Trello board with all of my upcoming grading and lesson planning tasks so that students and parents can see what I'm working on and when I plan to be done.
