My guiding principle when teaching is empathy because I want my students to feel seen, understood, and cared for. That's the type of environment in which I think the most effective learning takes place. There is no curiosity without security.

Technology affects the learning process now more than ever, whether it's troubleshooting school provided laptops or tablets, trying to get students to put their phones away, or stressing that information on social media isn't always accurate. Tech can also be a fantastic tool to enhance the learning process and equity in the classroom. I believe tech literacy should should be taught in every subject just like reading and writing. Our students will work and exist in a tech-focused world, and we should prepare them accordingly.
